Bathroom Renovation — Before, During and After

The old bathroom had reached the end of its life — tired wall tiles, a damp-stained ceiling and a cramped layout built around the bath. I stripped the room right back to bare brick, cleared the rubble away and started again from a clean shell.

Out went the bath, replaced with a walk-in shower enclosure and a black-framed screen. I fitted a new vanity unit and toilet, moved the plumbing to suit the new layout, and put in an extractor fan to keep the room clear of moisture. Metro tiles went on the walls and patterned tiles on the floor, cut in around the shower tray and the vanity.

Once the tiling was grouted and sealed I redecorated the ceiling and the woodwork, hung the round mirror and refitted the accessories. I did the whole job myself, so there was one person to deal with from start to finish.
